Just as the proverb says, repetition is the mother of wisdom. Let's go over once again what foods from our table are also suitable for our 4-legged friend and also make his days varied. I use all of the following foods when making treats for my dog or filling a licking mat. I hope you too get inspired here to use them on licking mats.
In the summer season, I am happy to share berries growing in Estonia with my dog, such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. The most beloved berry among our dogs is blueberry, dogs pick them from under the forest themselves. While walking under the forest, cranberries and lingonberries also come their way, but then they quickly change direction and look for blueberries again. Apples, pears, bananas are also favorites of dogs and safe for them.
Among vegetables, there are many options to share with the dog. For the time being, let's stick to the ones you usually find in your kitchen on weekdays. I'll point out some of our dogs' favorites and not-so-favorites that I sometimes put in food for them. Spinach and broccoli are the ones that don't exactly bring joy to our dogs, but when put in a bowl, they still eat it. Great favorites are pumpkin, cucumber, and the complete favorite is, of course, carrots.
From the fridge, I share unflavored yogurt and kefir with the dogs- both are always very welcome in their bowl. Less often, egg and cheese get into their bowl (the cheese contains salt, which is needed by the dog in a very small amount, do not overdo it).
Varied food will also bring excitement to your dog!
